Many kids are out Trick or Treating by now, but if your child is about to leave the house, you may want to check out a few helpful tips on how to keep them safe while making tonight a great Halloween.

  1. Know Where Your Child Is - It’s important to know where your child will be if you aren’t accompanying them tonight. Make sure they travel with at least one sibling or friends, and provide them with a cell phone in case they need to contact you for any reason. This helps prevent missing children and drugs/crime.
  2. Safety First -As always, your child should be safe, but take a few extra precautions tonight. Give your child a glowstick or flashlight so they know where they’re going and don’t stumble into a place they shouldn’t be or injure themselves because they can’t see. Also, make sure they do not eat candy until they return home. It is important to check candy, because you never know where you are getting it from. Also, visit http://www.familywatchdog.us to look up local sex offenders and help your child avoid those particular houses.

By following these tips, you’ll help ensure that your child has a fun and safe and Happy Halloween, along with you. I hope everyone has a wonderful Halloween!

As many of you are aware, Dr. Drew’s father, Mort Pinsky, recently passed away, and Drew and his wife Susan have been dealing with the many emotions and feelings you get when someone you love and are close to passes away. Although I did not know Mort personally, I feel that it is necessary to set up a place where Drew and Susan can read your comments and support messages. To pay your respects and send your thoughts out, just leave a comment on this post, and Drew and his family will be forwarded the comments. May God bless Drew, his family, and his father.

Just this week, the LoveLine with Dr. Drew application was made available in the iTunes App Store. Designed by Jacobs Media, this application still has quite a long way to go, but it is decent so far. Plus, it’s free of charge, which means you have nothing to lose and a ton of sex and relationship advice to gain! Features include:

  • Listen to the previous night’s show for free as many times as you’d like, and the stream stops when you close the application.
  • Call the show directly (iPhone only) or send in your unanswered questions via email from your iPhone/iPod Touch device.
  • Connect with Dr. Drew on MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter, along with direct access to the website.

Many fans of the show are also looking forward to Blackberry and Android device support, and hopefully an application for other smart phones will be completed. Live stream and a podcast center are also being requested, so hopefully the developers will take these ideas into consideration and they will be made possible through future application updates.

Breast cancer is a cancer that starts in the breast, usually in the inner lining of the milk ducts or lobules. There are different types of breast cancer, with different stages (spread), aggressiveness, and genetic makeup. With best treatment, 10-year disease-free survival varies from 98% to 10%. Treatment includes surgery, drugs (hormone therapy and chemotherapy), and radiation.

Worldwide, breast cancer is the second most common type of cancer after lung cancer (10.4% of all cancer incidence, both sexes counted) and the fifth most common cause of cancer death. In 2004, breast cancer caused 519,000 deaths worldwide (7% of cancer deaths; almost 1% of all deaths).

Breast cancer is about 100 times as frequent among women as among men, but survival rates are equal in both sexes.

We know that many of our readers are actually bloggers themselves, and we supply you with content that you want to read about. So, how do you know what niche your blog does and does not appeal to? If you follow our tips below, perhaps you’ll have a better understanding of the type of content people want to read about.

  1. Social Media- As we all know, everyone is always looking for the latest social media and popular culture news, and websites like TMZ are always first to break the biggest stories concerning celebrities, etc. If you want readers to really be interested, be sure to include your personal opinions, because people find your own ideas far more interesting than just a repost of an article in different words.
  2. Technology- Next up, we have technology. I’m sure many of you have heard of Mashable at one point or another, and they are one of the leaders when it comes to reporting on technology, and are one of the biggest websites on the Web right now. Technology is important to our modern society, and people really want a solid review on a product or application before they think to spend, especially during this recession.
  3. News & Politics- Finally, we have the idea of a political blog. This is where you’ll want more opinions than coverage, but when writing, don’t modify quotes from articles or write an article that’s based purely on bias. Everyone wants plain, simple, and fair news, and in addition to companies like CNN, FOX News, etc, bloggers are becoming the main source for breaking news.

These are merely ideas of what your blog should cover, but the most successful blogs on the Internet typically cover one or more of these topics, so it wouldn’t hurt to post an article about one of the topics mentioned above on occasion. Also, if you have any suggestions for our readers, leave a comment explaining what you blog about and why.
